Creation of a new WorkSpace in ProStructures CONNECT Edition

    Product(s): ProStructures, ProSteel, ProConcrete
    Version(s): CONNECT Edition (10.XX.00.XX)

    Overview

WorkSpaces & WorkSets are an integral part of the ProStructures CONNECT Edition, allowing you to separate your design projects into logical groupings. A WorkSpace is a container for grouping related WorkSets and may represent any desired grouping such as Facility, Client, Department or Owner. Creating a WorkSpace in ProStructures is not same as in MicroStation.

This document will guide you on how to create a new WorkSpace in the ProStructures environment.

    Method

    1) In the Windows Explorer, navigate to the default path where the WorkSpaces are located i.e. C:\ProgramData\Bentley\ProStructures CONNECT Edition\Configuration\WorkSpaces.

    2) Now, just copy one set of the already existing WorkSpace folder along with the corresponding *.cfg file.

    3) Then, just rename both these to the name of your Client, Owner, Department or Facility for which you want to have. Like in this case I have created a new WorkSpace for the region India.

    4) As the new WorkSpace would be a copy of another pre-existing WorkSpace, thus it would contain all the standards like frames, cells, dgnlibs, seed files and the templates.

    5) You can then save all the new data to these locations by branding / associating a new ProStructures file to this WorkSpace or opening already created files under this newly created WorkSpace.

    6) Similarly, you can then create several WorkSets under this new WorkSpace that you have just created.

In this manner, you can create a new WorkSpace in ProStructures CONNECT Edition.
