    Integration of ProSteel tools into ProSteel CONNECT Edition.

    Overview

    When there is a requirement to calculate the weight of elements or elements with some modifications , One needs specific tool to calculate this geometrical value.
    ProSteel doesn’t have such in built tool  to calculate the weight. However, there is one weight calculation tool which is developed and can be externally implemented .
    The required external files are attached to this wiki and process which one needs to follow to implement this tool is given below.

    Method

    Please find attached the Zip file where all the important files are provided. The instructions you need to follow to add this tool in the product are listed below.

    1.Please download the attached zip file and extract them. The zip package does not include an executable file.

    2. These files present files must be copied manually as given below.

    a ) File included in Gui should be copied to following path.
             
    C:\ProgramData\Bentley\ProStructures CONNECT Edition\Configuration\Organization\Dgnlib\Gui
                    
      

     
    b)   Files included in Plugins should be copied to
                        
     C:\Program Files\Bentley\ProStructures CONNECT Edition\ProStructures\Prg\Plugins.

     

     
    c)  Files included in ProStructures should be copied to
                        
     C:\Program Files\Bentley\ProStructures CONNECT Edition\ProStructures

     

     
    Load the ProSteel Toolbox and for this follow the below step.

     3.  After following the above three steps, Press CTRL+T which will open up with Toolboxes Dialog and in that you need to activate or checked in ProSteelTools-Custom.

       


    4. After this, Open the ProSteel CONNECT Edition and you will see one tool bar which contains this weight calculation tool.
         
      

    5. Select this tool and then select the elements for which you to check the weight. The calculation dialogue will appear with all the details such as weight of element, material count of parts selected etc. for more details refer the snapshot below

        

     In this way, Weight calculation tool can be implemented and used in the ProSteel.
