Upgrade WorkSpace & WorkSet to Work Area.

      Product(s): ProStructures, ProjectWise
      Version(s): CONNECT Edition (10.XX.00.XX)
      Area: ProjectWise Integration
      Subarea: ProjectWise Dynamic Managed WorkSpace
Original Author: Vyanktesh Nama, Bentley Product Advantage Group

    Overview

The WorkSpace and WorkSet folders should be promoted to ProjectWise Projects in order to support a Managed Configuration.

Once they are ProjectWise Projects, the _USTN_WORKSPACENAME and _USTN_WORKSETNAME configurations can be automatically extracted by using ProjectWise Project Macros. The folders can be upgraded to ProjectWise Projects.

    Steps to be follow

To upgrade the folders to ProjectWise Projects:

    1. Open ProjectWise Explorer.

    2. Select your datasource folder (Workspace folder), and right click.

    3. Select Upgrade to Work Area.

    4. Follow the Work Area Creation Wizard and consult the ProjectWise help documentation for further information on Converting Folders to Work Area.

Folders promoted to a ProjectWise Work Area have the ProjectWise icon associated with the folder. The diagram below displays the Workspace USA_Canada_Metric being promoted to a ProjectWise Work Area.

Similarly, an upgraded WorkSet (e.g. ExampleMetric) to ProjectWise Work Area have the ProjectWise icon.

Tip: To make further use of the ExampleMetric WorkSet, select Tools > Scan References and Link Sets from the ProjectWise Explorer to reconnect and resolve all the WorkSet references and linksets. See ProjectWise help for more information.

Step 6: Link CSBs to WorkSets.
