Overview

When detailing bar reinforcements especially for huge structures with multiple similar element types such as superstructure slabs, raft foundations, and slabs on ground, modeling are usually using slab element.  In some instances, users might need to differentiate rebar labels of such slabs for clarity and meeting some standard drawing requirements.

The Automatic 2D Rebar Labeling (Autolabel) feature comes in two options.

The delivered DGNLIB file might be limited to general structures. In this document, we will discuss on how to add new elements in the file.

Method

1. Copy a required 3D Model from the DGN to DGNLIB file. Then, apply Dynamic Views to create 2D drawings and specify rebar labels.

2. Open the Picklist Manager [ ProConcrete > Data/Reporting > Item Types ] in the DGNLIB, enter the required value for your newly added element under Concrete Type Picklist and click Save.

3. Attach Item Concrete Type [ ProConcrete > Data/Reporting > Item Types ] to the newly added 3D Model with the required Label Type you entered from Step 2 in the Autolabel template.

4. After adding the new element in the DGNLIB file, restart the Prostructures CE to get the newly added/modifications on default. If a 2D drawing model is already created, use the Update option under Rebar Attributes [ ProConcrete > Drawing Production > 2D Rebar ] to reflect the changes in the existing drawing model.

Important Notes

1. The second option discussed above might need the user to attach the same Item Types in the DGN file from the DGNLIB file to get accurate output in the 2D drawings.

2. Only one DGNLIB file can be used at one time.

3. Supported 2D Rebar attributes from Autolabel DGNLIB to Output DGN:

a. Main Bar attributes

b. Longitudinal Bar attributes

c. Bar Range attributes

d. Bar Label attributes

e. Label attributes
