How to install ProStructures in a ProjectWise environment [TN]

How to configure your ProjectWise environment for working with ProStructures

    1. 1. You need:
      1. ProjectWise Explorer V8i >= SELECTseries 2
      2. ProStructures V8i SELECTseries 5, newest version
      3. Access to a ProjectWise datasource
      4. Optional: ProjectWise Administrator V8i >= SELECTseries 2 (if you want to create the two applications of 2. )
    2. 2. ProjectWise datasource needs two applications (be careful with typing!) :
      1. ProStructures for MicroStation
      2. ProStructures for AutoCAD
    3. ProStructures for MicroStation needs an open action with following properties:
      1. Program class name : Bentley.MicroStation.Application
      2. Command line arguments: -wc"%PsPWConfigPath%ps3d_ustn.cfg"

    4. ProStructures for AutoCAD needs an open action with following properties:
      1. Program class name : AutoCAD.Drawing.PW
      2. Command line arguments:
        /p "%PsPwProfile%" /ld ProStructuresLoader.arx

    5. Run (as administrator) PsPWConfigurator.exe from PRG folder of ProStructures installation:

    6. Select the CAD program you want to use with ProStructures and that should be started from ProjectWise when opening a ProStructures document. Then click “Update Configuration” if some configuration step lines are in red color. After that, both lines should be in green color (if not, please check your rights to change system variables)

    7. Optional: Click “Export templates to ProjectWise” to transfer ProStructures template files to a project into your ProjectWise data source. These templates can be used later when creating a new ProStructures document from wizard.

      First step, choose files:

      Second step, select ProjectWise project:

    8. Now you should be able to create a new document of Application “ProStructures for MicroStation” or “ProStructures for AutoCAD”.

When opening the newly created document, ProStructures should be started with this file from local dms-folder.
