Overview

Currently, the Anchor Plate table is only present in the NasccBolts.mdb Anchor Bolts database file, and these are in the Imperial units.

This wiki explains, how one can import this table to another Anchor Bolt database file and then customize it according to the metric values to use it in the metric unit system.

Method

Please follow the below steps to achieve this.

1. The default bolts database file location is as follows defined by the config variable PS_BOLTDATABASES.

Path: C:\Program Files\Bentley\ProStructures CONNECT Edition\ProStructures\Default\appl\MechanicalFasteners\Bolts

2. From the above location, please copy the NasccBolts.mdb and a metric database file e.g. Australia.mdb then paste them in the Non-Program Files location e.g. Desktop.

3. Now, open the metric database file e.g. Australia.mdb and click on the Enable Content button to edit the database file.

4. Go to the External Data > New Data Source > From Database > Access.

5. Click on the Browse button, browse and open the copied NasccBolts.mdb file, then click on the OK button.

6. Select the AnchorPlateSample table and click on the OK button.

7. Click on the Close button.

8. The table got successfully imported in the Australia.mdb file.

9. Now, change the Thickness and EdgeDistance values to metric values according to your requirements. Please refer to the below image which clears these parameters.

For this example, I have changed only 10 rows to metric values, please refer to the below image.

10.Go to Config table and change the NasccBolts.AnchorPlateSample to Australia.AnchorPlateSample for Anchor Plate index ID.

11. Now, save this database file. Copy and paste it in the default bolts database file location (mentioned in step 1). (Click Here to download)

NOTE: Please don't replace the original Australia.mdb file, make a backup copy of this file.

12. Open Anchor Bolts dialog and go to Plate Anchor Bolts tab > select Plate > open Australia.mdb file.

13. Select the required value.

14. After placing the Plate Anchor bolts, it looks like as shown in the below image.

In this way, one can import the table and customize the same according to the requirement.
