Just as an exercise I created a civil cell for turnout that creates the vertical as well.French bending method is applied. Main purpose is to give idea not to replace turnout functionality.
I also added Features/Features Definition to allow quick annotation on plan and profile. It can be enhanced to do more.
Yes, place label is the "basic" command that works for CAD but not for CIVIL. We have 2 commands. However if it is useful to have 2 commands to not expose all civil capabilities to CAD users, maybe the Place Label should be associative to all types of elements.
It does work with Civil Labeler but it doesn't work with Place Label command.
Do you mean the list of cicil cells to place? It comes from the delivered workspace (in fact organization civil). So check the workspace you are using.
I have seen your Pick civil cell option which has many options.I have hardly three options.
I don't know what's happening in your file but it is working well for all I have done till now:
Check the associativity is ON in Civil Labeler AND locks:
Hi jpln, in Release 1 civil labels are not moving with the objects they are assigned to. Could you please log a defect for this?
I don't think it is possible automatically. So the best is to annotate using civil label. It is manual but it will be automatically updated if you move the turnout.
Hi Jean-Pierre, thanks for sharing this video.
I'm trying to get TOTP, TOEP, Xing and LLB stationing and NE annotated in the plan with this approach.
Any idea on how I can get turnout civil cell read the chainage it is placed at?
You can use stations with large interval. it will annotate first and last points only.
Can you recall which one? It would be great if I could replicate this, but the issue is projected profile is corded into a bunch of PIs and it technically has no components because it is a project profile. I think I have tried every combination under Vertical Points/Vertical Components with no success.
Unfortunately it was just created for this example and I didn't keep it. I think I annotated the start/end of the profile element, not horizontal points
Would you be able to share the annotation group/definitions that you used in profile view? I attempted this scenario with a turnout, but unfortunately none of the "Locations" are working for both the start and end of the projected profile, just the start. This is fine if I want to annotate all my point of switches in profile view using projected profiles if its a leading turnout with respect to stationing, but not trailing where I need the end. I have tried increments with 100% and END horizontal control points in an attempt to annotate the end of the turnout, but it disregards these and labels start points only. I am using 2020 Update 3. Thanks.
It is just "normal" constructions, so geometry created with the intent of creating a civil cell. It means that I had to carefully chosen the way I designed the geometry (constraints) and used Civil Accudraw.
Then, not forget basics in civil cell: never enter chainage, cell references can't be dependent one from the other, try your construction at each step to ensure it moves as you want.
When the design is completed, create the civil cell. You just have to select references. References are what you will have to select at the cell placement to build and adapt the cell to the project. Dependents elements should highlight to check what will be included in the cell.
When something wrong: go back to basics above.
I can see how you applied the civil cell, but how did you set it up in the first place?
Sorry, I don't have such cell yet. It will require an other civil cell so that we can get the branch alignment after the end of the turnout.
I think I have a video showing how to design such area on my YouTube channel. Not using a civil cell. However if there is something typical we can do for a single branch (as a start), you may suggest.
