The best workflow is to create a reality mesh (3SM).
Scalable Terrain Model still exists but 3SM offers greater capabilities.
The good thing is that the workflow is almost the same than using STM.
You will get the full…
Please join J.P. Gauthier and Ian Joyce for the first virtual meeting of the Bentley Rail Special Interest Group (SIG) on Wednesday, April 27. Convenient sessions are scheduled for 10 a.m. EDT and 5 p.m. EDT and will share the same agenda. The topic for this month is Analyze Subsurface Geotechnical Conditions and how to:

Hatch Mott MacDonald - the winner of the 2014 Be Inspired Award for Innovation in Rail and Transit, will present how an intelligent signal design process helped them to reduce design time, increase quality & enable closer collaboration with civil engineering.
Relative to conventional CAD, intelligent design has enabled Hatch Mott MacDonald to:
I am having a data set of Existing Rail Top Spot levels for a lenght of 2 Km;
Imported in Rail Track - Gometry Project as Cogo-Points. Now, I require auotmatic alignmnet fitting on rail spot levels in Horizontally and Vertically.
Would like to change Horizontal slew up to 50 mm and Vertically lift up to 50mm, for which Regression has to be carriedout.
Since, I dont have any existing other rail track data, except only…
how does this tool work if a wish to break up a slope evenly with benching? it doesnt seem to terrace a slope evenly with any input i have put in...
When using InRail's component "End Condition" properties how does create benching or terracing?... if I am using this box?? the benching? how wide? is that with step elevation? from datum... it is unclear the relationship between these and the resulting behavior with input... if the datum is 30 and step elevation 5 ... shouldn't it extrapolate an even division along the slope?
This is my first post, hopefully someone can help?
I want to be able to plot a platform adjacent to a designed centreline in Railtrack.
I have a spreadsheet of heights and offsets and chainages that takes into account end/centre throw and cant effects of the design.
I need to apply these offsets 'normal' to the alignment in order to generate co-ordinates along the platform edge at 2m intervals.
I'm not sure…
