Applied constant

The default in BRT is 2.80 for applied constant and 4.01 for equilibrium using english units. You should probably be defining by unbalance if you are using AREMA though since they use the tables that define applied elevation based on a static unbalance (1", 2", 3", or 4" depending on the railroad and mix of traffic). You will not get the proper results for instance if you are calculating using the applied constant and are expecting results that include a 2" unbalance.
