Hello,
I do not use Bentley Rail Track.
However I am making an AECOsim model of a rail depot and would like to incorporate the rail model into my model.
I've been informed that the Pway designers will produce horizontal and vertical alignments in a data file
and that they will also have a graphic representation (2D plan)
Can this be used to automatically produce a model with rails and sleepers (and conrails) ?
I was kind of hoping that specifying a track cell, a sleeper cell, sleeper interval and loading up the desired alignment
would allow the 3D model to be generated more or less automatically.
Thanks,
The best workflow we can propose and is applied by some users is to create Rails in 3D from Rail track and use Generative Component in AECOsim to populate sleepers along the track and add the rail profile. The good thing is that once the GC script has been created, if the track changes, then you just have to run the script and you will get the model in few seconds or minutes depending of the model.
Hi Jean-Pierre,
Do you have that script for GC I’m looking for that option as Well. I saw a Nice movie on LinkedIn where they show the power of GC for Railtrack and Tunnel design.

I sent an example in a private message. As said, it is not my script and didn't check yet agreement of colleague to post it publicly.
