Hello,
I use Power Rail Track V8i (SS2),
Can the Program give me XML REPORT - distance between COGO point and nearby edge of the rail?
See attachment file.
I calculate this distance in Excel: dS=H offset –((1.435/2)+ left_rail_head),
left_rail_head=0.072 for UIC 60.
It is easy to get clearance between COGO points and features or alignment. If the feature that represents the head of rail doesn't exist then there is no report that will give what you need. So 2 solutions:
Hi jpln,
thanks for the reply.
How can I edit the XLS file, where is it located?
I always look for a distance to the nearby rail.
The GOCO may be on the left or right side of the alignment.
You can use your favorite text editor to edit the files.
My files are found at the following location ...
C:\Program Files (x86)\BentleyV8i\InRoads Group V8.11\XML Data
Yours may be slightly different.
*edit - spelling
I found the file.
Where to make a correction? constant distance 0.7895
If you cannot find where the corrections needs to be made, I would suggest the much easier route that jpln suggests above.
Add a null point to your templates where you want to have the offset measured from (ie ... edge of rail) and assign it a feature. Then run an XML report showing the offset from that feature to your cogo points. This should get you the output that you need without any complicated xml editing.
