I was wondering if any could help shed light on the following:-
I have completed a horizontal design in BRT but the vertical design has been done by someone else using software called Design Route.
The vertical curve information from design route is as follows:-
I wanted to use the Text Import Wizard to import the Design Route vertical profile into BRT but I am struggling.
I was wondering if anyone had any experience in importing Design Route data into BRT and if so could you explain how it is done or give an explanation on how the data in the text file should be labelled inorder for BRT to correctly import the Design Route vertical profile.
Can anyone help?

Hi Stewart, I've never used Design Route but you can should be able to import the alignment using 'Text Import Wizard'.
Save the spreadsheet containing the vertical alignment details as a .txt file.
In BRT select File > Text Import Wizard.
Select Data Type: Vertical Alignment.
Load the text file.
Click Edit...
Work through Steps 1 to 4. The important one is Step 4; ensure the relevant columns are labelled as 'Station', 'Elevation' and 'Curve Length'. Any columns not needed should be set to 'Skip'. Hope this helps!

The issue is that columns of source file (DesignRoute) are the curves. So to use the text import wizard you have to transform the data to have station, elevation, (slope), radius on a single line for each point.

Design Route outputs station (chainage) in 3 x columns which are IP Chainage, Start TP Chainage and End TP Chainage.
Design Route also outputs elevation (Level) in 3 x columns which are IP Level, Start TP Level and End TP Level.
Which station and elevation does BRT look for in order for BRT to correctly import design route vertical alignments?
