I'm producing an model for a project of which no drawings are be producing and everything is going into a BIM environment.
I have included extra meta data into my models by adding items. Does anyone know if there is a way to get an excell output from the "ïtems" ? acutally if i could do a report from which would include everything in the propeties box it would cover what i'm trying to do?
Thanks
Bryce
Yes, you can go to drawing ribbon then Analyse>Reports. It allows you to create reports from content of your file (or others).
You can insert a table in your file that will be updated.
You can also export the result to Excel

Awesome thanks jpln, This is what i want but I must be doing something wrong as i'm only getting the headings come through, not the detail
Hi Bryce,
The simplest/easiest method is to use the Export Item Type Instances tool:

We use this all the time and it works pretty well.

Yeah that works, but it doesn't report whats in the item fields ,it just gives the headings. I'd actually like this to go to the next step, I'd like to be able to click on a element (say the pavement of a road) and have a report that has every thing in the properties box for that element ,including any attached items as that is what is expected for the BIM model
You have to combine elements and items information in the reports. Example: if you want the volume of a mesh that also have item attached, include cif>Meshes with related item.
In this example I am using one available item named Stop Sign attached to my ballast and subballast meshes:
Note that I also added a filter to get only meshes with item set:
