Is there a way to annotate track cant in mm, not slope in Open Rail designer?.
I've tried to annotate a segment defined by the track points (Lt-Rt segment), but the segment field can only annotate as slope, not vertical distance. ¿Any idea?
Thanks in advance.
Unfortunately there is no cant annotation available yet on cross section.
Unfortunately there is no H/V annotation for a segment available yet on cross section, only the length of the segment.
Fortunately it is not too difficult to workaround and could apply to multi tracks because it is the real height between rails but you must be aware that skew cross section can give different value than the applied cant at that station. However small width, flat profile and usually parallel or small angle between tracks, so not a big difference.Roughly, 1.435m gauge, 10deg (1/5.67) angle between cross section and track with a 20%o profile gives ~5mm. Not nothing.
Bonjour,
Thanks for the answer. Quite elegant!!
jpln, is it possible to round the cant value to, say 5 or 10mm?

It is not something possible or easy to do. To 10mm maybe we can find a trick by dividing by 10 in the template and annotate mm with no decimal. 57mm will give 0.0057 and will be annotated as 6. Then you can add suffix 0mm and it will be annotated as 60mm.
Thanks jpln,
I would have thought this is a requirement, I do not know anyone who specifies cant in metres or to the nearest mm. Is it possible to have a calculation such as Round(C / 10)*10 for 10mm or Round(C / 5)*5 for 5mm in the template?
