Hey forum!
I'm kinda new to OpenRail and struggling with corridors at the moment. Is there a good tutorial for example merging two corridors, haven't really found a good one even though I've been scavenging the Bentley videos and Youtube.
I want to merge these two corridors:
Thanks for the help!
You can't merge 2 corridors. You can clip one with the other or clip corridor using shapes.
However even it is not obvious to understand the content of the corridors from images, It is more like you should have only one corridor with a templates that manage 2 tracks. Or 2 corridors but in this case the templates must manage the link between the 2 on a common location. Not really easy to manage.
Typically, if it is a single track that is split in 2, one corridor is the best solution. 1 template for single track, 1 template that introduces the second track along the turnout, 1 template for 2 tracks. Such templates are available in the delivered template library.
Thanks, really helpful insight! What would you suggest in this case, what is the best method when its complex like this? It seems pretty difficult do it with only one corridor and then manage these tracks with templates.
That's a nice one. I would say: keep single corridor where it is possible, so where there is engineering reason to coordinate from a single track. But in the node it could be a challenge. So my first idea here is to split between subballast and ballast as I do for this yard: https://youtu.be/HU4c-fsXEmk and https://youtu.be/HlsDHfuTWjk
