Hello, one of the colleagues in my office has an issue with Open Rails it is lagging very hard when he is designing the pipes, changing angle can take up to 30 sec and he constantly is getting errors. Other colleague is working with the same file, has the same pc and works in the same work space and everything is fine for him.I took a coupe of steps to try and solve this problem but they didn't seem tow work:
None of the steps above helped with the problem and I can't find any information on the internet that could help me here. Maybe someone of you experienced similar problems or has any idea what could be wrong here, any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance!
Most of time it is due to the UPF. Try to run:
"C:\Program Files\Bentley\OpenRail Designer CONNECT Edition\OpenRailDesigner\OpenRailDesigner.exe" -restoredefaults
Of course it does reset some user settings. If it is an issue for you I would advise to save a suitable UPF as SPF and set configuration variables so that the saved file will be used when a reset is done. Something like:
MS_USERPREFSEED = $(_USTN_WORKSPACEROOT)Preference Seeds/preferences.spf
(This variable is defined in workspacesetup.cfg)
I tried your suggestion and sadly it didn't work, but only because now I don't think there is anything wrong with the Openrails itself but with the file, I saw those errors and there must be missing files in the project. We also tried working on much bigger project and OpenRails worked just fine, maybe you have any idea what could be causing the problem from the error messages?
I hope you can read them.
They are more warnings than error. They are showing missing fonts in cell(s) from file OLP4_VA.cel. If the same file works fine for other colleagues in the same office, same workspace then current user configuration could still be the issue. However why fonts are not found ?
Cell(s) come from AutoCAD using AutoCAD fonts not available on the search font paths ?
I expanded one of the warnings
Also file works when it's from local PC but starts lagging when opened from Vault or dosen't work at all.
When you say "local", do you mean all files are local ? Or just the host and references are still on network ?
Maybe there are issue browsing the network to find references, or one file that is found when not local and not found when local could create this issue.
Not easy to analyze. Sometime detaching files one by one to identify if one is creating the issue.
