Hello, I'm starting to work with PRT SS10 in order to migrate to ORLD (I come from PRTSS2), and I find some issues in X-Section creation with the new workflow of SS10.
I have created several Service Request for this questions, but I think is important to share this issues wtih other PRT users at this forum.
Thanks!
1. There are migration information here: https://communities.bentley.com/products/road___site_design/w/road_and_site_design__wiki/36224/feature-migration-into-openroads-designer-connect-edition
2. I am maybe missing something from SS2, but it was not possible to project point clouds on a cross section. it was possible to project COGO points. With Civil Xsections of SS10 I don't think it is possible to get the point cloud. Possible with OpenRail if you setup a xsection sheet seed for this purpose. Always possible V8i/Connect using clip volume. Reality Modeling workflow in OpenRail gives a wizard to do this kind of thing, but it is not civil xsection
3. We don't have place/cell block capability in OpenRail. What is not available, is the capability to rotate the cell based on the cant. In SS10 it should work the same than SS2.

Hello jpln, thanks for your help.
1. Solved with the help of your link. Very useful and clarifying.
2. I work with point clouds as a surface to check clearance in tunnels. For this, I generate a XYZ file from point cloud which previously I’ve reduced its density. Then I import this file into a surface. Next step is to create X-sections. In SS2 you can include Projected Features from a surface with a bandwidth definition (see the picture) to obtain slices of the active surface. With this workflow, it is possible to obtain x-sections with existing points projected according to defined bandwidth.
I don’t know how to project features in X-Sections in SS10. But in ORLD I’ve found the solution in OpenRail-Wiki at next entry:
https://communities.bentley.com/products/rail_design/w/rail_design__wiki/47844/xsections---how-to-display-point-clouds
3. As the same as above, I use this command for clearance checking, using the section of the vehicle as a cell. For this issue I have a Service Request opened because in SS10 I’m not able to run the command (SR#7001205403). But in ORLD this workflow can be done with Sweep Envelope command as I’ve found too in OpenRail-Wiki at next entry:
https://communities.bentley.com/products/rail_design/w/rail_design__wiki/50886/sweep-envelope
Thanks again.
