I have 2 issues with the thematic styles in OpenRail Designer.
1: I am not allowed to set maximum legend elevation below 0. This is quite unpractical since "all" my work is performed below 0m elevation. Highlighted in the picture below
2: How do I define that the style only applies to e.g. terrain models? In SS3 there was an additional tab in the window shown above where I could exclude / include element types affected by the display style. This also affected the max / min legend values if I recall correctly. In OpenRail, however, it looks as I will have to use display rules instead. This kind of works, but the legend does not update based on the filtered element types.
1. I don't know what's happening there. Need the DGN to have a look. Maybe some issue with below 0 elevations. I am not used to work under sea level
2. You may change the display style for objects from the properties dialog (Extended) and use the elevation mode only for what you want.
For the display style, I have found that when I place my terrain in reference I can change the display style of the reference and this work fine in 2D model or 3D model. Of course this works if you only have the terrain that you want in the reference file and not other stuff shown as well. For the thematic height bellow zero it's working on my side... maybe do a copy of the thematic height style and try to modifiy the copy?
Hi, sorry for the delay. I could be blaming Covid, but..Minimum elevation works below zero for me as well, but maximum elevation can not be set lower than zero.
Thanks for the reference tip. I think that might be the best solution for now. I have not yet found a good solution with display rules, but that might change when the "below zero issue" is solved.

Hi, sorry for the delay. The summer went by and so on..I am struggling with file upload, so maybe I will have to do several posts.
1: I will upload files from PowerCivil and OpenRail as well as a video file. I can set minimum elevation below zero, but not maximum.
2: I am unsure what you are thinking of. You can see what I have available in my properties/extended in the following image. I am probably not in the correct dialog. I have also attached a screenshot from the "missing" tab in PowerCivil. I would be beneficial to have a similar tab available in OpenRail as well
I was unable to upload the DGNs here in any form, even as zip, so I have sent the files via secure upload. Hopefully, they can be found somewhere.
