I have a dgn file in OpenRail and I wish to transfer one of the alignment from one .dgn file to another. I do not wish to xref file. I tried exporting landxml but I am not able to import the landxml file into my new dgn file.
Please help.
Thanks in advance.
Hi.Are you using "export/import geometry tools". ?
Also you can try to merge the old file into the new one.
Hi Lucas
Actually I am working with OpenRail Software and the present .dgn file seems to be corrupted. In BRT/PRT the process was really simple. I do not wish to merge the old file to new file, as it may also copy the unwanted settings in the new file. I just wish to simply take alignment from one dgn file to another .dgn file. The landxml is not importing in the new dgn. If possible you can try at your end to check and lead me through the process. Thanks a ton for the reply.

If the LandXML doesn't work it means that something is probably wrong in the alignment.
What you can do is to reference the source DGN in the new DGN and use Transform to copy the alignment from the reference to the new DGN. Then, still in the new DGN, open profile of source alignment (the one in the reference) and profile of destination alignment, the one just copied (should be empty). Then, use the Copy command from the vertical geometry group to copy from the source profile to the destination profile.
