Hi
I have used BRT and the signal sighting tool for many years and now looking at Open Rail Designer for signal sighting - Is there a step by step process to bring in and alg file and make it so I can place a signal on the linestring .
I have created 3D linear elements but signal sighting is telling me "No 3D models found for the current design model, cannot start tool"
any assistance greatly appreciated as we used BRT for 250 miles of railway and need to use ORD for the future
kind regards
john
I am facing same issue as above, The error that it displays is same as your's No 3D Model found for current design model, cannot start tool. Did you figure out the process to activate the signal sighting tool John?
Your reply would be appreciated.
Do you have the 2D model and its 3D model automatically created by OpenRail?
I have them created from AecoSIM which i am pulling to OpenRAIL..
That is why it doesn't work. AecoSIM models are not OpenRail managed models. And it is at risk to use AecoSIM models with OpenRail because of resolution. Most of the time AecoSIM and OpenRail don't use same resolution in default seed files. It could cause some issue.
I would recommend to create new file with OpenRail to work on signals and reference AecoSIM in OpenRail and vice versa.
