Hi dear users,
Do you know a workflow fit for OpenRail Connect Edition to get cant value at any chainage? I was trying to get report for cant, but it shows just the values on critical points of the alignment, also tried to add event points at needed chainages with the idea to extract cant value for that chainages, but it looks like cant values and alignment data work independently and i can't do it. I need it for getting cant values in transition curves where we have a cant ramp. Thanks in advance!
In the OpenRail Modelling workflow, go to Home → Model Analysis and Reporting → Civil Analyses → Analyze Point. Then select your alignment. You should be able to then move your cursor along the alignment and it will report the cant value to you (along with other data such as station and offset). I am using OpenRail 2021 R1.

Thank you Rick, i tried the way you proposed and got the results as in attached screenshot, can you guide me please which value should be interpreted as cant?
You are welcome Alexandru. Perhaps you could mark my suggested answer as the verified answer to help future users quickly find the solution if they have a similar question.
One more question - is it possible to export a report with cant value at needed chainage, or just to check it inside the model? IT would be really convenient to be able to extract this data on a spread sheet!
After you have applied a speed table and cant to an alignment, you can generate a Cant Report by going to Open Rail Modelling → Rail → Cant → Cant Report. This only provides the cant at cardinal points within your alignment. You can export the cant report data from within the Civil Report Browser by going to File → Save As, and selecting the desired format.
I am not sure how one can extract cant at specific points along your alignment. I have never used Event Points before but perhaps this could be used to extract cant at specific points. Go to Geometry → Common Tools → Event Point List, and create event points at the chainages where you want your cant to be reported. I wonder if the cant would then be reported at these event points or not. I am unsure. If you come right with this method please let me know.
I tried this approach with Event Points, but i can't get cant value for them (just XYZ). I hoped there is a method to get not just the values in cardinal points in a report but looks like maybe we will get it in a future update (it doesn't look impossible, we can already use the proposed workflow). If i'll find something i will post it right here.
I found a method that might help you. This method will report the cant along a chosen alignment at an interval you specify. After applying your cant, go to Rail → Cant → Cant Report. This tool will ask you to specify the start station, end station and the interval at which you would like to report cant values. Enter the desired stations and interval. When the Civil Report Browser opens, click on Cant → CantIncrementOnly. Here you will find a list of points reporting the cant at the specified interval.
