After installing OpenRail Designer and going to run it for the first time, I create a new design file but the seed file path points to C:\ so naturally it cannot locate the default seed file in order to create a new drawing. This is for both versions 10.08 and 10.10 of OpenRail. Changing the file type from DGN to DWG fixes it. Or another work-around is to install the same version of OpenRoads alongside OpenRail, after you do that, creating a new DGN file works.
What is going on with this, is there a mistake in the supplied configuration for OpenRail and what do we do to fix it besides having to install OpenRoads Designer on top of OpenRail Designer?
I am curious to know what is the intent to work without a workspace.
Apart from that, when the error occurs? Are you not able to browse to select a seed file?
Then you can check the configuration variable MS_SEEDFILES.Should be system and set to "$(_USTN_SYSTEMROOT)seed\;$(_USTN_WORKSETSTANDARDS)seed\"
Check the expansion.
No WorkSpace / No WorkSet (default)
Which is the same as OpenRoads, but the New File button works in OpenRoads.
Which workspace and workset did you choose ?
