Good Afternoon all,
I have a corridor model here:
I am trying to add drainage catchpits, shown in orange (there are more from a topo survey in the actual model), that go say 500mm deep into the grey concrete. I also want to add channels, that are 200mm wide, from the catchpits towards the edge of the concrete (towards the centre of the corridor) so that the bottom of these channels will then be flush with the dark grey/black surface.
Is there a way I can do this without having voids in the mesh (this is for visual/rendering purposes). Example of void shown below.
As you can see the mesh then loses its "material" and other properties. What would the best way about tackling this problem be?
Thankyou,
Jake
Maybe this could help you: How to create a channel crossing a track - OpenRail Wiki - OpenRail - Bentley Communities
Many thanks jpln! Looks like it should work with the channels all being well, I don't suppose you have any suggestions for the drainage catchpits either do you?
Thanks!
It could be done by modelling tools such as mesh substract but at a very last stage because each time the corridor is processing it will create new mesh you must manipulate again and remove the previous one. So with many catchpit it could be time consuming.
Alright, I can put them in towards the end of the modelling process with no problem using mesh subtract, apart from it looks like the mesh has voids in it, which isn't the result I am wanting, if that makes sense. Thanks
