Plan and profile Generation_H alg with different scale

Hi Firendzzzzzzzzzz,

I am having a Problem in Plan and Profile Generation. i.e i want to generate Plan and profile with the scale of H:1:2000,V:1:500.

I am Generating profile with the exact scale. But Plan is geneating only 1:1000 or 1:1. I want to generate Plan also 1:2000 or 1:0.5

Present i am changeing text height only but i dont want to change the text height. i want to change the plan scale.

Please friends kindly help me how can i generate plan also with the same scale..

Thanks and Regards

  • Hello,

I don't really understand the steps you are doing.

Plan & Profile generator lets you define the length of plan you want in each sheet.

You have to calculate it according to the format and scale you want to print. The scale is used for the border.

In the sheets, Plan view and profile view are referenced at 1:1 in each sheet. So in the default model (design), if the plan/profile annotation is set for a 2000 scale and the profile has an exageration of 2, then, when creating the sheets using plan & Profile generator, you should get the good result, ready to be printed at 1:2000.

But I may not understood the problem you have.

  • Dear JPLN,

I was clear about Jakeer issue, I am also facing the same problem.

You are right Plan & Profile generator helps us to define length required in each sheet and defined profile preferences working in PnP generator.

In plan and Profie Genrator tool,

If 1000m of length was defined in Plan tab and profile preferences with Horizontal & Vertical exaggeration of 1 and  4 respectively,(to get a profile with 1:10 scale) in Profile Tab the result is ok.

The issue is How I can get the Horizontal Scale (both in Plan View & Profile Views) of 0.5 exaggeration  (to get 1:2000 Scale)?

Profile preferences can be defined good but Plan View doesnt give the required results after generation. If gives defined length of Plan view i.e 1:1, Profile is viewed with 0.5:4 (as required).

We require to submit some projects with those scales. Hope the issue was better explanined.

Give me the workflow for the best results.

    Thanks

  • Still not sure to have well understood so I provide an example.

    I have created a A0 PDF composition:

    • Plan view scale 1/2000
    • Profile view H scale 1/2000 and V scale 1/500

    Steps to get it:

    1. Display and annotate the alignment in the "working drawing" using required preferences. In this case I am using a preference that gives the good annotation (interval, text size, etc) when the Global Scale Factor is set to 2000. It is just user convenience not mandatory for the output. Because I am working in model unit, if I want a text to be 2mm on the final ouput (1/2000), its height must be 4m in the design model.
    2. Create profile using Exaggeration H1 V4 and same setting than plan for global scale factor to get the good text size
    3. Plan & Profile generator to create the composition. I set the scale 1/2000 for the reference used as border that must be in model unit.
    4. In the host file I get:
    1. plan view referenced as 1:1
    2. profil view referenced as 1:1
    3. border referenced as 2000:1 (the frame length is then 1.189 x 2000 = 2378)
    • Final step is to print the composition using 1:2000 scale

  • Thank you for your Work flow. I used to do the same method. What I need is to generate the plan with 1:2000. means it should display 5m(1:1000) as 2.5 m(1:2000). when i measure in the plan it will be only 2.5m(but the chainage diff. is 5m). befor printing the drawing. I dont want to change the Profile Exaggeration it will be only H1:0.5 and V1:2 only...

THANK YOU FOR THE REPLY I WILL DO LIKE THIS ONLY
