Turnout XML Report

Hello,

I am working with turnouts in RailTrack Ss2 and I am having issues, not really issues, but more of want/wonder. When I do the XML report, it gives me a report showing the horizontal components of the rail, such as the linear, circular, linear elements. It's somewhat useful, but in addition to this, I am wondering as a design report why does it not show the actual turnout information, like the frog angle, lead length, PS to TOPI, switch point length, Switch angle, frog length, etc.?

Is there something I can add to XML settings to also include this info? I mean there really isn't a good justification that tells you what the turnout components are. As a designer, I would like to be able to have a print out report that shows this instead of telling them that it's a #20 turnout and only having the alignment data. IMO the XML turnout report is somewhat useless without this stuff included. Also, in somewhat respect to that issue, the whole .0, .1, .2, .3 stuff is also somewhat of an annoyance when trying to reference the actual data provided by the railroads where they have an "A" which is PS to TOPI, "C", PS to LLT, Lead Length, switch point length, etc.

If anyone knows how to adjust the XML reports to detail this data, or has a better way of doing some of this, any advice, comments, concurrences on this just reply.

Thanks

-Tom

  • Hello,

first you can have a look at "Show All" in the report browser when you got the turnout report. It does give you all the available information from the report. If the information is there then it can be formatted using the XSL sheet to give the desired report. Descriptive text is very easy to change in the XSL sheet using a text editor that handles XML/XSL language (Notepad++, XML Notepad, ...).

If it is not there then it may be possible to calculate from available information. it can also be done in the XSL sheet even it does need more knowledge about XSL.

Then if the information is not there, you should raise a change request trhough Bentley Helpdesk (selectservices.bentley.com>Service ticket manager or your usual contact) with an accurate description (drawing + final report) of what you are expecting. Using the Service Ticket we and you can track the request.
