Turnout on a spiral
M.Laursen
Hi Friends I have a question about designing turnouts on an spiral / transition curve with cant applied. We have a case where we need to replace 2 turnouts and a connection, with 2 new turnouts and a connection. We can't move the turnouts location…

How to Design Reverse Transition
Bibhuti
Dear, I am trying to connect in 2 different radii curve with reverse transition with same langth, how to design id any one give me solution on this. Curve no 1 : R= 126.025 ( Trailing Transition required 25 m) Curve No 2 = 152.075 ( Leading Trans…

Re: How to Design Reverse Transition
jpln
Hi, A simple construction could be: Add a fixed radius R126.025 trailing transition L=25m Add a floating radius R152.075 leading transition L=30m: pick the first radius as the element to connect to But it depends on constraints. Regards…

Adding transitions to simple curves
craiggro
Using Bentley V8i with Rail Track. I did a short layout for a main line track using simple reverse curves. I want to add transition spirals to the curves, but must the length of spiral and tangent length between curves is prescribed by the railway design…

Hi, I've recently tested the various methods aviable in BRT (V8i series 2). See the attachement. It seems that WA method is the closest to your expectations ;) Altough, as u said, u can always use the clotoid for your transition curve. WS
