As usual, feature definitions for equipments should be created in a configured dgn library. You can place in any [..]/Standards/dgnlib/Feature Definitions folder. The name must include keyword of what you want to load from that dgnlib. Words are: Features, Levels, Elem Temp, Text Favorites, Rail Settings, Text Styles, Dimensions, Annotations. This is to avoid editing configuration files.Example: LVA Rail Settings Features Annotations Levels Elem Temp Metric.dgnLib
Below is an equipment that is an Assembly. I created it just to illustrate the settings and different components.Equipment that is not an assembly doesn't have Connecting Equipment and Top Equipment.Assembly has 3 parts:
I am using at least 3 dedicated element templates per equipment, even you can use same element template in different equipments (same foundation is an example):
Equipment Geometry Aspect symbology is defining how it looks like in:
Top Equipment Geometry Aspect is defining how top component looks like in 3D:
Connection Region Geometry Aspect is defining symbology for the connection region.Connection region is currently limited to point (2023.00).An element, the connection region, is automatically created in the DGN based on what is defined in the cell. That element is using Connection Region Geometry Aspect
When placing a trench you can snap to connection points. Connection points are elements of the cell.A connection point must be a point as element or 2 points line. When it is 2 points line, first point is used for the snap.Connection point must be construction class and have linestyle number 6You can use large value for line weight to make them visible or additional geometry.
