I am pleased to announce a new release of STAAD.Pro CONNECT Edition Version 22.
As part of our commitment to you to deliver new builds more frequently, we are making available this version which adds great new functionality to improve efficiency for engineers around the world and has resolved numerous issues that have been reported and thus highly recommend that this version is adopted to improve your working experience.
The principal developments and enhancements that are delivered in this new version of STAAD.Pro are:-
The growing adoption of the Physical Modeller Workflow as the primary method for defining the STAAD.Pro analysis model has been enhanced with more loading options including adding seismic and dynamic load options. Seismic loads, time history forcing functions and response spectra to a number of codes have been added to the Catalog section of the model and can be applied to appropriate load cases which have a number of validation checks added to assist in getting the data set up correctly.
The design of cold formed steel sections to the Indian Steel Design code removed from recent releases has been reintroduced with a completely updated set of design routines and now produces more comprehensive set of report data.
The design of concrete sections to IS 13920:2016 Code of Practice for Ductile Detailing of Reinforced Concrete Structures Subjected to Seismic Forces implemented in CE Update 3 has been extended to now includes the provisions in clause 8 special confining reinforcement for beam design when required by clause 9.2.1.

Using the definitions of rigid diaphragm, irregularity checks can be performed to check against the code requirements including torsion irregularity checks for nodal displacements as per table 5(i), geometry irregularity checking for re-entrant corners as per table 5(ii), and mass irregularity as per table 6(ii)
The current Reduced Section Properties feature has been extended to allow it to be marked with a code-based reduction to follow the IS 1893 code which only reduces the properties when loaded with a static seismic load or response spectrum resulting in a separate stiffness matrices being created for these cases.
When designing models that are subject to seismic loading as defined in the IBC specification can now use the loading as defined in the 2018 code (referring to the ASCE 7-2016 publication).
Both the Japanese steel design modules, i.e. 2002 and 2005 have been updated to improve the design algorithms and closer match the design intent published by the AIJ.
Both the Russian steel design codes have been updated with the addition of a new parameter that handles the limiting ratio between design and characteristic loading, referred to as gamma-f in the design publication and allows the RATIO parameter to handle the condition of comparing the maximum design ratio with a limit of typically 1.0.
