Update 4 to the CONNECT Licensing Edition Version 9 of STAAD Foundation Advanced is now available. The build number of this update is 9.4.0.20.
The notable enhancements in this version are:
1. In the module for designing foundations for vertical vessels in SFA's PLANT mode, the code for calculating the wind force on the vessel component has been updated to the 2017 edition of PIP STC01015, which internally uses the 2010 edition of ASCE 7 as the basis for the calculation.
2. The facility for generating load combinations for the aforementioned module too has been updated to the 2017 edition of PIP STC01015. In this case too, the PIP document internally prescribes the recommendations of the 2010 edition of ASCE 7 as the basis for the generation.
3. The grouping option for isolated footings, which had been disabled in recent versions, has been restored. This is a feature that allows a single common size to be calculated for all the supports that are included in an isolated footing job.
