From what I understand, if I want a column modeled more than one floor I have to not put a splice level there in the story part of modeler. I have the floor set to not a splice level, and when I go into column to design the columns, RAM gets a different size for the two levels. This happens on both lateral and non-lateral columns. Any ideas why? Does it have something to do with two different floor types being unable to be spliced together? EG, 1st floor is one layout, 2nd floor is another.
If you see a "Y" in the column view/update dialog box in the "Splice" column that means the column in question has a user assigned splice which can come from the story data or from an extra user-assigned splice in the column module. You can clear user-assigned splices in the module as well.
If you see a "T" that's for temporary meaning that the column had to be spliced because the shape, Fy or orientation changed. If one of those things happened by accident return to the Modeler and change the columns to be consistent.
You can also assign specific column size in the Modeler now, by the way.
