Dear friends i wounder if i can control the number of digits that appear in Utilization ratio of steel structure in order to avoid the congestion of the numbers
Graphically there is no option to reduce the number of decimals for the utilization ratio. You may reduce the font size through View > Options > Beam Labels > Font to see if that helps in reducing the congestion. Another way to reduce the congestion would be to selectively turn on the ratios for certain members while have the same for some others turned off. To do that you may right click on the graphics screen and choose Labels and then check the box “Use Partial labeling Mode” as shown next.
Click Apply
You may then use the cursor to “Turn On /Off Individual Beam Label” as shown next.
You may either directly click on the label or use a window selection to selectively turn on/off labels.
In case you want to reduce the number of decimals for the unity ratio in a tabular report, you may copy the data from the Design Results table from within the Beam > Unity Check page and paste in Excel using standard copy paste options CTRL+C and CTRL+V. You will then be able to change the data format for the individual columns in excel so that it reports the desired number of digits.
I hope this helps.

Another query before when using track 0, you would get the max member utilization first in the analysis output, is that now changed
I am sorry. I do not have encouraging news to share as far as the enhancement is concerned. At this point of time the product management team could not tell me when to expect this enhancement to get implemented. There is a long list of enhancements/defects in their to-do list and so those are being prioritized by the team.
With regards to your question on Track 0, the analysis output file always listed the design based on the member numbers in an ascending order. For example if you use
CHECK CODE ALL
the software would report the design starting from members 1 to 10 ( say). However if you use the command
CHECK CODE MEMB 10 4 1
then the software would report the design in that order. However it is not based on the utilization ratio.
The only place in the software when you can get the reported design sorted based on the utilization ratio is in the Utilization table reported in the Post Processing mode. You would need to click on the table header Actual Ratio, as marked below, to get the data sorted
Thank You!
Hi Sye
When analyzing a beam with a welded top cover plate e.g IPE 300 TC the actual utilization ratio is showing 0 in Eurocode is it because it can not be analysed using Eurocode
If IPE300 TC is not working is there a way to user-defined that works?
You will not be able to design the sections as per Eurocode if you define it with the Top Cover Plate option. You would need to define the section in Section Wizard and export to STAAD.Pro as a General Section (user table) and then you would be able to get a design.
