Wrong moment distribution in beam

Can anyone help with this hugely frustrating and yet extremely simple problem in Staad?!

This beam is pinned supported and subjected to a single point load of 608 kN at 0.556 x span = 2.78m. The point load is added using the concentrated member load with d1 parameter 2.78 m. Staad calculates the maximum value of the bending moment to 704.3 kNm at x = 2.92 m which is obviously wrong as the maximum value is 750.6 kNm at the position of the point load. The value of the reactions is correct but the distribution of the shear force tells me that staad somehow distributes the point load over some part of the beam which reduces the moment. What puzzles me even more is that if I dubble-click on the beam, the Shear Bending tab in the beam properties window displays the correct value of 750.5 kNm at x = 2.78 m. But the wrong value is displayed in the graph section and in the report printout and is also applied in a code check.

Interestingly, I add a note at the said distance and apply the load as a joint load, the program gets the maximum bending moment right. Moreover, if the concentrated member load is added at mid span (i.e. d1 = 0 / blank), the moment is calculated correctly.

I am using version 20.07.10.66.
