Please help me about the temperature load. I wish to know the deflection(plate bowing) when operating temperature and shutdown temperature.
Operating Temperature : 200 deg C
Shutdown Temperature : 80 deg C
Plate Material : ASTM A36 / Thk. : 6mm
As you know above, plate thickness was thin and it is almost no effect temperature differential both plates(almost zero). Then, I think it seems to be not applied to the temperature load of f2(from top to bottom).
So, How to solve and analysis the deflection? Is there any method? or Are there analyzed by changing input data such as E & Fy at operating temperature only?
Yes it is correct to specify f1 as the operating temp - ambient temp but that would mean a uniform volume expansion for the plate. Unless there is a difference in temperature between the top surface and bottom surface of the plate, it cannot bend. For uniform temperature change ( f1 ) the plate can only expand/contract.
