I am having a problem regarding SEISMIC LOADING according to IS 1893 2002/05.
I have given seismic definition- zone , RF , damping, and all those things which were asked.
I have also given selfweight factor as 1. Now, my que. is shall i define joint weights, member weights, floor weights, etc. in definitions?
if yes, then how to apply or find the values of all these weights? please help me out.
I have defined load case details as:
1. EQX- 1893 load x1
2.EQZ - 1893 load z1
3.DEAD LOAD- 1.1 self weight
1.2 floor load
1.3 brick wall load in form of UDL on beams
1.4 cantilever slab weight in form of UDL on beams
4.LIVE LOAD- live load -3 KN/ m^2
5. and all combinations according to IS 1893.

If this is a building model, you need to follow IS:1893 part -I. For industrial structures, you need to follow IS:1893-Part IV. If you want to provide seismic weight, you need to consider 100% of DL and either 25% of LL or 50% LL depending on the live load intensity as recommended in Table 8 of IS: 1893. In your case, it will be 25% of LL to be considered for seismic weight.
