I am currently designing a deck slab, supported on grade beams (pile caps), on piles. I have created my beams, set the properties, and put a plate on top to act as the deck. My supports are the locations of the piles. I am having trouble obtaining the max moments and shears of the plate and beams from the moving loads ive generated (based on AASHTO HL-93 design truck requirements)
I created new nodes at the bottom of the beams for the supports. When I did that, my analysis doesn't come up with any reactions. However, if the supports are on the same nodes as the deck, I get reactions. Anyone have any advice on how to correct this?
STAAD file attached. Slab Design 2 test supports.std
Slab Design 2 test supports_mod.stdThere are few problem in the model-
1. Supports are assigned to some nodes which are not connected to the structure. Thus, no loads are being captured by the supports.
2. There are no proper beam plate connectivity.
The GUI shows the members in the location after providing the offset while its original nodes are at the plate level. The corrected model has been attached.
