RAM Concept - Code Span Detailing Rules

The Concept Manual states under section 53.1.3 that for PT Beams, One-Way Slabs, and Two-Way Slabs ACI 318 18.9.4.2 and 18.9.4.1 is implemented. It is not clear if ACI 318 chapter 12 code provisions are also implemented per 18.9.4.3 since it is not explicitly stated. Are ACI chapter 12 provisions accounted for when Concept details rebar for PT slabs and beams?

  • Span detailing rules for PT slabs and beams do include Chapter 12 requirements. For example, RAM Concept extends positive reinforcement in design strips that are considered post-tensioned to meet the requirements of ACI 318 12.11.1 which requires "at least 1/3 of the positive moment reinforcement in simple members and 1/4 the positive moment in continuous member shall extend along the same face of the member into the support."
