built up members data base??

hi~

i have a problem using staad.

in doing modeling work,  i wana input built-up steel sections on modeling members, not roll steel section.   i just  found roll steel sections in staad.  could anyone help me about this problem?

 

i think staad have  a funtion importing section databases. if i use this funtion, i maybe able to add builtup steel sections. but  how can i take this database?  if not, i have to make DB?.   if so, how can i make DB?

 

please give me a happy hand.        have nice day~. 

 

  • 1. There is no way to create a new profile shape in a given section database. One can include a new record in any of the existing profile tables. You may use the modify section database for this.

    You can find the relevant information on MODIFY SECTION DATABASE, if you go to Help > Contents > Model Generation> Menus in modeling mode>Tools Menu> Modify Section Database.

     If the customer wants to create a section that is not I-shaped and does not conform to any of the other sections in the Section Profile table, he may be able to create a User Provided Table instead

    To create a general built up section please go through the relevant topic under help manual. You can find it under section 2.3.4 of Tools Menu in STAAD Graphical Environment >Model Generation ( See attached create user table.jpg)
