I am having a problem running a certain model in RAM Structural System v14.07. The building is composite steel framing with steel columns, concrete shear walls, and the lowest level is a concrete two way slab.
I have the building fully modeled, but when I try to design the steel beams, the module crashes. I've run many other models before and never had this problem occur. The steel column design module crashed while I was running v14.06, but works now after I updated to v14.07. Any suggestions on what could be causing this?
It's a little misleading. It certainly appears to crash on the top level, but I think it's really crashing when it gets to the 5th level.
There are some warnings related to the slab edges on the 5th level when I run it here. When the slab edges are deleted from the 5th level, then the whole model works.
The various perimeter slab edges/diaphragms are causing the problems. Here's an image to illustrate:
