Projectwise- Creating STAAD files in Projectwise

Hi All,

I tried to create a new STAAD file in Projectwise, through regular Projectwise syntax of creating a new document.
Projectwise generally asks for "template" for creation of any new document.
STAAD necessarily dont need any template unlike Microstation.

Please let me know what is the standard way of working on STAAD through Projectwise.

I'm also trying to do ProjectWise with STAAD (I had a computer scare last night, and our IT department got me back working this morning). One of the issues I'm having is that the result files don't seem to integrate. I've got a model with surfaces for shear walls and a large number of load cases, so running the analysis takes about 3 hours. If I were to have to re-run the model every time I check out the file, it would severely limit the usefulness of running off of PW.

I've attempted to upload the .std file and all result files, and opening the .std file only results in my computer downloading the .std file (Post-processing tab grayed out). I've also tried to save a stripped down model file to PW, run the analysis, and check the file back in. It has the same result, where only the .std file gets touched and the result files are left on my local drive. Is there something I'm doing wrong or a switch I need to twiddle?

As of now, only the .std file can be saved in a ProjectWise repository or retrieved from it. We are working on having better integration with ProjectWise in future versions on STAAD.Pro so that all analysis results can be saved too and you do not need to reanalyze to get the results.

Yes there has been significant improvements in this area. Now you can save not only the .std file but also all other associated files as an archive file (.stz) on a ProjectWise Server.

Please ensure that you are using the latest STAAD.Pro CONNECT Edition ( 22.01.00.39). Here is the section of the Help which has all the details

whilst waiting for your reply I tried different way. I am using SS6. I tried to upload .std file to Projectwise as external template instead of MOD . It worked. While checking in - I clicked update server copy - and chcked in. When I opened again - the postprocessing session was working!! instead of greying out.

Do you think using Connect edition with uploading .stz file (which is basically zip file) into projectwise will work better than this?

Appreciate your views.
