DEEPBEAMPLATE.stdDear Sir,
In STAADPRO the design of DEEP beam is not possible since the program does not have the facility. In such case how to model a DEEP beam and design? I tried to use a plate element and a beam on the top of plate to transmit the vertical UDL to the plate? Is it correct means? I tried a Shear wall in place of plate. Which one is good for the design? Attached the std file.
If we remove the beam at top how to place the UDL on the top surface of the plate?
Appreciated if Bently staffs can help.

No dude, even RCDC cannot design a deep beam.I had a same problem in using Staad pro.you can use following software to approach the design:
ABAQUS, SAP2000, ETABS, ANSYS, RESPONS 2000, etc.
I don't think so, RCDC can design deep beams.
If any one tries they will get error as Beams are missing...!
