I have been using the steel connection design feature in Microstran and have run into a hurdle when attempting to select the web side plate connection. Please find the attached sketch showing what I am trying to achieve. It appears that the web site plate connection is unable to be selected as the rafter is on the rake. Is what am I trying to do achievable? If so, please let me know how?
I don't see any way to precisely model a beam to girder connection with a sloped girder in Microstran (with Limcon) or using Ram Connection. It's fine to model beams that are sloped slightly into a flat girder, but not where the girder is sloped. If you want to send over your model I can ask a few other colleagues to confirm.
