How to assign point loads and get result of displacement according to points local axis not in a global axis. (circular tank / Staad.pro)

Nodal displacements are always reported with respect to the global axes. In case it helps, apart from reporting the nodal displacements in the global X Y and Z, STAAD.Pro also reports the resultant displacement which the resultant of the 3 displacement vectors.

As far as applying load in a direction inclined to a global axis is concerned, one can apply plate pressure loads ( available within Plate Loads > Pressure on Full Plate ) along local axis for plates. If using beam elements, one can apply member loads along local axis for the beams ( available within Member Load > Uniform Force/Concentrated Force/.. ). These loads defined along the local axes for plates or beams, can be at any inclination to the global axes.

Loads applied at nodes ( Nodal loads ) are usually in the global axis directions. There is however a way, using the command editor, to specify nodal loads inclined to global directions. The following wiki item has details on the procedure.

So there is no other way. Why staad did not develop their program as other competitors.
