Hello everyone, Can tapered (variable depth) reinforced concrete beams be modeled in Staad pro? I have noticed when creating my model the member properties only offered the option of tapered I and tube sections, which are not applicable in my case.
One can model the Concrete tapered I shaped section but it cannot be designed in Staad.
Yes if you input the same value for F2, F4 and F6 as equal to the width of your rectangular section and specify the F1 and F3 appropriately for the varying depth, you would be able to model a rectangular tapered member. When you are specifying a member of varying depth, it is a requirement in STAAD.Pro that the depth at start should be more than the depth at the end ( F1 > F3). So when you define the member, ensure that the node at which the depth is higher, is defined as the first node in the member incidence.

hello sir , but it is taking tapered section from centre in top and bottom , but i want tapered in only bottom . please tell me how can i provide traight top and tapered bottom
You may use different member offsets at the start and end of the tapered member ( offset at each location = depth at that location /2 ).
