Does Ram Connection address a w-shape beam moment connection to an HSS column? The column continues above this cantilever beam condition.

I have a cantilever w-shape beam that occurs at an HSS column. Does Ram Connection address this?

Yes. In RAM Connection, you can assign the following moment connections for a W-shape beam connected to a HSS column: 
 1. Diaphragm Plate (Smart Connection - Smart FP Bolted or Smart FP Welded) 
 
 2. Directly Welded (Smart Connection - Smart DW) 
 
 3. Moment End Plate (Smart Connection - Smart MEP HSS). The end plate is welded to the wall of the HSS. 
 
 For the diaphragm plate and directly welded connection, a separate shear connection should also be assigned to the joint. 
 Flange plates directly welded to the face of the HSS (not the side walls like the diaphragm plate) are not available. This is Enhancement #221328 in our database and a connection that we would like to add in the future.

I see. All of the moment connections above require a rectangular or square HSS column. Regretfully, RAM Connection does not have a moment connection that can used with a round HSS column.
