SP3D - STAAD - SP3D model transfer

You may transfer the model by using CIS/2 as well.

I tried using CIS/2. SP3D import log file shows no member transferred. On the other hand, the .stp file created from STAAD shows members.

This looks like an issue that has to be taken up with Intergraph tech support. Please upload the .stp file that you exported from SP3D and also the one that you exported from STAAD.Pro and let me see if I can get some help for you.

CIS/2 format and a mapping file may be necessary so that SP3D will know what member it will import especially if you have made modifications on your members in STAAD.

The transfer of model was successful after contacting Intergraph, thank you for the guidance. But now I am stuck at another place.

1) While I transfer model again from SP3D to STAAD, i.e. while I update model in STAAD using update via CIS/2, the member specifications are changed. E.g. If there is no moment released for the beam or member truss is given to a beam, after updating model, all members are released, irrespective of previous assignments.

2) I am using physical member loads application method to avoid any kind of disturbance to loads while I update the STAAD model via CIS/2. So, for the physical members thus created, is it required to provide DJ1/DJ2 and Lzz design parameter?
