I have been running analyses in staadpro for numerous models but, I have not been able to check the base shear & overturning moment in the staadoutput file.
Dear Member,
This is very general question, not sure whether you are talking about static or dynamic seismic analysis.
Well if you are doing static seismic analysis, you can check output just after input of staad editor. A sample output is attached for your reference.
But if you are doing response spectrum analysis, the base shear and moments can be checked for modes and the resultant as well based upon your modal combination method selected.
I hope this answers your query.
Just adding a couple of points to what Kaushal already mentioned.
For any static load case, you can take a look at the Statics Check Results Table as shown below to get summation of applied forces and also summation of moments about the origin. This table is available in the postprocessing mode from Node > Reactions page. The same output is also printed in the analysis output file ( ANL file ) when one includes the command PRINT STATICS CHECK as part of the analysis command ( eg. PERFORM ANAYSIS PRINT STATICS CHECK )
For a dynamic analysis like response spectrum, the base shear is directly printed in the analysis output file as shown next
