With the new ASTM A1085 spec for HSS you no longer have to use 0.93 times the nominal wall thickness, you can use the nominal wall thickness. When will this be implemented in STAAD? I see it has been in RAM since 2013. I suppose you could use TS sections instead of HSS but, to me, that is just a band aid solution since the TS designation is no longer used.
Yeah, I've saw that. That's great, except did you notice the order they appear in the drop-down list? They are by area highest to lowest. I guess this is to facilitate the Select command. The other rectangular HSS's are grouped more or less by depth and width. This makes much more sense to me because I'm usually looking for a certain depth and width. It's nice to have them all together.
