Root Element is missing

Can you upload one screenshot of the error message? Is this problem file specific? What is the build number of STAAD.Pro that you are using?

I bumped into this post while answering a user question earlier today. For the records, this error was observed in a few machines in the initial releases of STAAD.Pro v8i Select Series 6 like 20.07.11.33. The issue is related to the STAAD.Pro Advanced Editor. Subsequently there were some changes made to the Advanced Editor to take care of this issue. Please use a more updated version of the STAAD.Pro v8i Select Series 6 like 20.07.11.90 and this problem should not happen. 

Having mentioned that I would highly recommend that all users should start using the STAAD.Pro CONNECT Edition ( latest version for that is 22.04.00.40) as support for STAAD.Pro v8i will be discontinued starting Jan 1, 2021.
