Does Select Beam-Brace Joints work in horizontal braces too?
When I select it, it won't highlight the horizontal braces and the beams.
Is it because there are no available connections for hor. brace in RAM Connection Module?
When I tried the Select Beam-Girder Joints, all of the beams and girders and hor. braces are highlighted which is not correct.
Do we have options or settings how STAAD/RAM will choose which are braces and which are not?
Please advise. Thank you.
Jose, just FYI, horizontal braces are now available in the version of RAM Connection released a few days go.
Seth, the Gusset Plate HXB appears to be identical to the Gusset Plate VXB connection except with less functionality (much more limited set of sections available for it). So it seems like it doesn't really add much to the standalone version as those horizontal crossing braces could simply be modeled with the VXB (actually, none of the fabricators in our area use the VXB/HXB style of gusset anyway, so I still can't use RAM Connection for center gussets of braces, but that's a different issue). Was the purpose of this connection simply to address correct identification of joints in RAM Structural/Elements models, as Jose asked about?
