When exporting framing plans to dxf frame beams do not show studs assigned to them. What is the philosophy behind that?
Beams are designed in RAM Frame module, and after that their stud assignment is updated in the RAM Steel Beam Module.
Can the stud count be added to the frame elements takeoff?
Thank you!
Our philosophy is that the lateral, frame beams can only be properly designed in Ram Frame - Steel mode where all the load cases are combined and model indeterminacy is considered. We allow the user to view a gravity-only preliminary composite design in Ram Steel using Process - View/Update, but those preliminary composite design results are not reported or included in the DXF.
There have been requests for this over the years, and for pinned beams in X braced bays I suppose the composite design results are valid. For your information, that's been logged as:

For Layout DXF feature, if the "Include Labels on Frame Beams" is selected, also show the Grade, Camber and Studs (as specified in that dialog box). [Don't show reactions] Currently it only shows the size.
